Eat that Frog with a Pomodoro
Procrastination as a habit.
We all have a habit of procrastination (the action of delaying or postponing something ) which leads to failure or regret in one’s life.Procrastination is something we all practice in our life intentionally or unintentionally. Some of us already face the consequences of procrastination in the form of failure in life and we kept on practicing it even though we face failure. This is because we practice it so much that it becomes part of our behavior.
Pomodoro Technique.
To get rid of procrastination the technique which we are going to be using is the Pomodoro Technique. Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s.
1st Step of Pomodoro Technique.
In this technique, we have to prioritize our task by evaluating its opportunity cost which will help you identify the most important one first. When you decide which task you are doing set a timeline to it like 25 min it will help you in time management.
2nd step of Pomodoro Technique.
To avoid all distractions possible like turning your mobile phone off and you can turn off notification from Facebook or Instagram and avoid looking for Emails as well in that specific period of 25 minutes.
How to improve
If you still face some distraction try to write it down and quickly get back to work try to repeat Pomodoro Technique at max for 4 times and identify your distraction and try to focus on how to get rid of these distractions and try to remain more focused .
These are some issues when I practically did this activity while solving costing journals.
Issues faced for the first time, I did the task
1) I need some snacks to eat so I can perform better.
2) I need to check my Instagram.
For the second time
1) I need to check university site may be last assignment results are uploaded over there.
2) I need something to eat
Solution
After performing the task for 2 times I identified, I have a bad habit of eating while doing work which somehow stopped me from focusing on my work .I decided not to eat while working .The other issue which is been resolved was .I have a bad habit of looking for notifications on my mobile. I turned off my mobile so this issue is been resolved.
I opt this habit to turning off my mobile phone 1 hour in the evening and one hour in the afternoon which helps me in focusing more on schedule next day routine which I will be following. Pomodoro Technique is a great tool which helps you in time management it is based on divide and conquers rule which helps me in
1) maintaining focus for sort time spam
2) learn time management
3) Improve efficiency and effectiveness
4) follow the discipline.
3rd step of Pomodoro Technique
Is to give your self-reward in the form of a break for 15 min which will help you gain energy so you could better perform the task and repeat the activity of Pomodoro.
